Jonas Mekas – Film maker and Film curator

jonas-mekas Jonas Mekas the avant-garde filmmaker and curator of film, one of the most fascinating thinkers and practitioners of independent film or any kind of film  for that matter in New York. For the last ten years he has been making a video diary every day without fail. A pioneer of the video diary and the founder of the Anthology Film Archives, Mekas, now 92, has set to work building the largest cinema library in the US. If you want to be inspired to make film or understand the essence of film making he is a great place to start. An engaging conversationalist and interviewee which the following piece testifies. Whenever I get stuck I go back and listen to what he says, read what he writes and look at his films and what he does.
